How Cost Contribution Works

Nsafero uses Cost Contribution, not fares. The Cost Contribution is the amount a Traveler contributes to help share the travel costs of a Shared Trip.

What Cost Contribution covers

The Cost Contribution is meant to help share travel costs such as:

  • Fuel
  • Road costs
  • General trip costs

Important principles

  • The Trip Host should already be planning the trip.
  • The Cost Contribution is not a professional transport fare.
  • Nsafero V1 does not process payments.
  • Travelers and Trip Hosts currently handle Cost Contribution directly outside the platform.
  • Nsafero may add platform service fees or payment features later, only after legal and payment review.

How it works in practice

When a Trip Host offers seats, they set a Cost Contribution per seat. Travelers see this amount before sending a Seat Request. Once a Seat Request is accepted, the Traveler and Trip Host arrange the Cost Contribution directly.

Nsafero does not collect, hold, or transfer any money in V1. The platform helps people find each other and agree on shared costs — the settlement happens directly between Trip Host and Traveler.
